Local breweries are now making it easier than ever to plan your crawfish fix. With Boils popping up every week in every direction, it’s nice to know the exact dates and times you can satisfy your crawfish needs.

For Brew Bus Shenanigans, Episode 5, we spent an afternoon hanging out at a few breweries to get the 411 on what to expect at these weekly events. Check out the full VLOG below:

Here’s the blog version on when and where!

Every Friday at 5pm, head out to Second Line Brewing in Mid-City where NOLA Crawfish King cooks up to 700 pounds of crawdads depending on the weekend.

Wayward Owl Brewing
Every Sunday at 2pm until sold-out

Justin, Founder of Wayward Owl, is a family man and loves having the weekly crawfish boils that are kid-friendly. Routinely, they’ll have games for the kids to play with adults including scavenger hunts, easter eggs adventures and more.

That doesn’t mean the fun isn’t there for adults as Wayward Owl also hosts Shuffle Board events for the local NOLA Shuffle Board league.

The Kristalweizen was paired specifically just for crawfish boils. Justin describes the beer “it’s got a little bit of lemon acidity, and that’s intentional because it’s made to go with seafood, specifically crawfish.”

Krewe du Krawe fires up the pot right in the early afternoon with the first drop at 2pm.

Urban South Brewery
Every Thursday from 4 to 9pm

Evan Troxell serves as not only the Urban South Taproom manager but he also owns his own crawfish business, Gulf Coast Crawfish.

Evan routinely has private boils including the Brew Bus Boil Experience which is a great activity for team building.

Of course, every Thursday evening has became a staple at the up and coming Urban South, where you’ll see new pilot batch beers released and sold out on almost a weekly basis.

Our daily tours make a stop at Urban South, so book with us on Thursday and enjoy some crawdads to go with your beer pairing.

NOLA Brewing
Every Friday at 2pm

New Orleans’ longest standing brewery made its name by giving away lots of FREE beer and tours every Friday at 2pm.

Well, the free beer still rolls for $5 a person for an hour every week, but our friends over at McClure’s BBQ also throw one helluva boil now at the same time.

Hard to say no to free beer, free tour, and a few bucks for some delicious crawfish.

Port Orleans Brewing
Every Sunday at 2pm until sold-out

Port Orleans in the heart of Uptown near Tipitina’s has been brewing beer in the Big Easy now since June of 2017. Their multi-million dollar taproom and partnership with Stokehold Restaurant has turned into a place locals love to walk to.

Port Orleans is popular with the Big Easy light beer drinkers which means they have some really great choices to pair with crawfish–we recommend the Sean Payton Blonde Ale.

That wraps up our beer news for this week
