Updated: March 17, 2019
Local breweries are now making it easier than ever to plan your crawfish fix. With Boils popping up every week in every direction, it’s nice to know the exact dates and times you can satisfy your crawfish needs.
Every Thursday at 4, Friday at 3, and Sunday at 12
Evan Troxell serves as not only the Urban South Taproom manager but he also owns his own crawfish business, Gulf Coast Crawfish, arguably some of the finest tasting buds in all of New Orleans.
Evan also routinely cooks for our Brew Bus Boil Experience which he serves up a sack of crawfish and veggies to a group hosted by a NOLA Brew Bus Tour Guide. Our bachelor parties from all across the country love this experience.
Last year, every Thursday evening became a Crawfish & beer staple for Uptown residents so this year they stepped it up a notch. Now, you can get your crawfish fix starting Thursday’s at 4, Friday’s at 3, and Sunday’s at 12.
Our daily tours make a stop at Urban South, so book with us on Thursday and enjoy some crawdads to go with your beer pairing.Book Online Now! Tours available Daily
Second Line Brewing
Every Friday, 5PM till sold-out
Next on our list is Second Line Brewing, currently the only brewery in the Mid-City neighborhood and a local’s favorite. Aptly name for the most popular post-wedding event in New Orleans.
Alligator Mike is boiling up the bugs every Friday starting at 5pm until they run out. Pairs perfect with the Saison named Desire.
Every Friday at 2pm
New Orleans’ longest standing brewery made its name by giving away lots of FREE beer and tours every Friday at 2pm.
Well, the free beer still rolls for $5 a person for an hour every week, but our friends over at McClure’s BBQ also throw one helluva boil now at the same time.
Hard to say no to free beer, free tour, and a few bucks for some delicious crawfish.
Neil and his team also boils every Friday at Avenue Pub during Lent from 5 to 8pm.
Port Orleans Brewing
Every Sunday at 2pm until sold-out
Port Orleans in the heart of Uptown near Tipitina’s has been brewing beer in the Big Easy now since June of 2017. Their multi-million dollar taproom and restaurant has turned into a place locals love to walk to.
Port Orleans is popular with the Big Easy light beer drinkers which means they have some really great choices to pair with crawfish–we recommend the Strawberry Riverfront Lager. NOLA Crawfish King will be boiling every Sunday starting at 2pm.
Parleaux Beer Lab
NOLA Crawfish King also serves up buds in the funky brewery, Parleaux Beer Lab, in the funkiest neighborhood, the Bywater. Every Friday at 2pm, come join the fun. It’s spring time, and that means outdoor sun. Parleaux’s courtyard is the largest of any New Orleans brewery.
That wraps up our beer and crawfish news for this week. Thanks for tuning, be sure to give us a like or share and as always, Cheers!
Last year, for Brew Bus Shenanigans, Episode 5, we spent an afternoon hanging out at a few breweries to get the 411 on what to expect at these weekly events. Check out our old VLOG below:
