Parish Brewing & Other Half Brewing Collaborate…the Internet goes crazy

Two IPAs sold out in 2 minutes

Parish Brewing resides in small-town Broussard, located 2.5 hours west of New Orleans. They have become a household name for Louisiana craft beer lovers.

Parish started the Louisiana IPA movement by brewing one of the best Double IPAs in the country, Ghost in the Machine.

Now, Parish has partnered with Other Half Brewing located in Brooklyn, NY. The popular beer app, Untappd, ranks Other Half as one of the top breweries in America.

This partnership proved to be a wise decision as half of the beer that was available for online purchase sold out within 2 minutes.

If you want the beer, you still have a shot albeit a difficult one. For starters, you will need to show-up to Parish Brewing on the release date of April 20th at likely the crack of dawn. The doors open at 10:30am.

The three beers being released will certainly not disappoint. Let’s dig into the full description from the Parish Instagram page:

Can Design by IG,

The first collab is Double IPA with an awesome can design by on Instagram. Any local Louisianian will recognize the beer resembles a Boudin package you may purchase on the way to drink Parish Beers.

If you look closely at the can, you’ll notice 10.23 pounds of hops per barrel! Wowzers.

Here’s how Parish describes the Double IPA:

“Our first collab is super fat and dank, but somehow calm, composed, & refreshing. Heavy doses of Nelson, Wai-iti, Waimea, & Pacific Jade in the dry hop shows nuanced flavors new to our noses. Crazy notes of tropical skittles, lemon lime pie, basil syrup, and pineapple”

Purchase Limit: 1 case per person
Price: $24/four-pack

Ghost Diamonds (16oz cans)

This may be the beer everyone is most excited about. This one will be a heavy hitter within craft beer trading circles. It’s essentially a “mash-up beer of two beloved brands: Ghost in the Machine (Parish) & Space Diamonds (Other Half).”

Outside beer traders across the US have known about Ghost in the Machine for a while now. Ironically, it took The Summer of Ghost in 2017 and 2018 put the beer at the forefront in Louisiana.

Now, we get to see the brain genius behind two high-level IPA producers into one beer. From the Parish IG page:

“Bombed out with a double dose of Galaxy in the dry hop makes this fuming & explosive. Ultra fragrant & delicately floral with notes of mint, candied cantaloupe, sweet tarts, & overripe mango sorbet”

Purchase Limit: 1 case per person
Price: $24/four-pack

2018 Vanilla Shade (750ml bottle)

Last, and certainly not least is a bourbon barrel aged Vanilla Shade which was brewed in 2018 and blended for 10 months in Heaven Hill & Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels. The beer was then conditioned on five separate additions of house-made vanilla puree including Ugandan, Tahitian, & Madagascar vanilla beans.
